When our good friend Scott White sent us a link to an article written by Penny Arcade’s Ben Kuchera, ‘Banning E3 booth babes isn’t good manners, it’s good business’ we were intrigued to say the least.
To date, Cassandra and I both sported mixed feelings about booth babes, their purpose at trade shows, and the message their presense delivers. I also have a mental red flag raised every time I see an article about booth babes at E3.
After reading the article, we wanted to learn more. We had questions. Who was this guy? What drove him to write this well thought article and post it in the face of people who were sure to accuse him of being “some guy writing a booth babe article” just after E3? He even did it without hypocritically plastering his story with photos of booth babes.
Who does that?
I emailed Ben. At first, it just to ask him some questions about his article, but as I was writing, I realised there’s no better person with whom to discuss this article. He kindly agreed to join us for a chat.
Click up there and read Ben’s article, watch the BBC video that he linked, listen to our conversation. If you get a spare moment, let us know what you think.
Would a lack of booth babes ruin your E3 experience? Would it make it better?

Anyone who goes to a gaming-convention for the booth-babes has probably rather missed the point of the show, I feel.
